How to arrive in Salamanca?
Who wants to travel to Salamanca by plane can fly has got two options: fly to Madrid or to Valladolid.
From Madrid to Salamanca
Madrid Barajas is one of the biggest airports in Western Europe, handling about 40 million people a year. The airport is situated 13 km north-east from the centre and has good transport connections. Easy ways to travel are: by metro (from Terminal 1,2,3,4), bus or taxi.
There are buses to Salamanca every 30 minutes at Conde Casal bus station. Bus tickets cost 10.00–16.00 €. Non-stop buses leave hourly and take 2,5 hours to bring you to Salamanca. To reach this bus station take the metro from Aeropuerto station to Nuevos Ministerios station by line 8, transfer to line 6 from Nuevos Ministerios to Ministerios to Conde de Casal station (€1,15).
From the Chamartin Train Station in Madrid you can take a train directly to Salamanca. Trains leave 7 times a day, the journey takes about 2,5 hour and costs about 15.00€. To reach Charmartin train station, take metroline 8 from Aeropuerto station to Nuevos Ministerios station, transfer to line 10 at Nuevos Ministerios to Chamartin station (€ 1.15).
Arriving in Salamanca, taxis here are cheap, so it’s advisable to take a taxi from the Salamanca bus or train station to your accommodation.
