Hospitals

In case of emergency, you can find various hospitals in Salamanca. The healthcare in Spain is free (except dentists) for every EU citizen, so long they have a E-111 form and use the National Health Care System (Sistema National de Salud). Non-EU citizens need medical insurance. It’s obligatory to show it during the registration in a hospital, you can be asked as well to leave a copy of E-111 or other medical insurance document, so it’s better to be prepared.

The emergency number in Spain is 112 (no area code).
